Our History

1951
MACOR is now presented as the successor of a major global German manufacturer of maritime access equipment, Deutsche MacGregor GmbH.
1985
The Deutsche MacGregor group decided to continue independently of the International MacGregor Organization and was thus renamed MACOR Marine Systems International GmbH. The group opened its French agency based in Marseille.
1995
This group joined Neptun Industrie Rostock GmbH, one of the oldest shipbuilding industries in the world to become MACOR Neptun GmbH.
2004
The Marseille Agency became a totally separate company under the name of MACOR. It was placed under the French Flag but also moved its Head Office and infrastructure to the Grand Port Maritime of Marseille.
2004
AMARIX, a holding company, acquired MACOR.
2006
In order to extend its expertise to the application of the SOLAS regulation, MACOR created the Life- Saving Appliances Service Department.
2010
Following the growth of the yachting refit market, MACOR created the Yacht Repairs Service Department.
2013
MACOR was certified ISO 9001:2008 for its Quality Management System, by the Bureau Veritas.
2015
MACOR celebrated its 30th anniversary.
2016
MACOR opened its 1st agency for the LSA Service, in Le Havre, France.
2017
MACOR became a member of ISES association and continues to promote its skills on the international maritime market.
2018
MACOR opened its 2nd agency for the LSA Service, in Marseille, France.
2019
MACOR became a member of Riviera Yachting Network Association, and allowing it to contribute to the French savoir-faire of the yachting market.
2019
Following the IMO BWM Convention regarding Ballast Water Treatment, MACOR created the BWT Service.
2019
MACOR was certified ISO 9001:2015 for its Quality Management System, by the RINA.
2021
MACOR opened its 1st agency for the Yacht Repairs Service, in La Ciotat, France.
2023
Macor has opened its new agency in Toulon dedicated to naval repairs on national navy ships.

Riviera Yachting Network

La Seyne-sur-Mer, France: member since 2019.

For over 20 years, Riviera Yachting Network, a cluster of companies specializing in refit, repair, maintenance and yacht services, has been working to support the development of yachting in the Sud Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur Region. Building the yachting industry of tomorrow and remaining the world's number 1 territory for yacht operations (navigation and maintenance) is the raison d'être and constant ambition of Riviera Yachting Network and its member companies as well as those of professional, economic, institutional and political partners. The cluster's actions in the service of the yachting industry are notably financially supported by the Sud Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur Region and the Toulon Provence Méditerranée Metropolis.

PYA (Professional Yachting Association)

Antibes, France: Member since 2024.

The PYA is a non-profit professional association founded in 1991. It is not a trade union. Its primary mission is to represent the interests of professional yacht crews worldwide. With members from over 90 countries, the PYA is THE representative body for professional yacht crews.

The International Ship Engineering Service Association (I.S.E.S.) Ltd.

Cáceres, Spain : member since 2017.

ISES is essentially a non-profit enterprise that exists to co-ordinate and market the international activities of its member companies. To help achieve this aim it employs a Secretary General. As a group, the objective of ISES is to unite an independent, high quality worldwide network of members to provide electrical, mechanical, electronic and specialised services to the marine industry. Ship owners who engage the services of an ISES member can be confident that they are utilising the skills of a quality assured service company. The Association has members in more than 30 countries, covering over 150 ports, including some not covered by other service networks.

Mission : To connect ship-owners / Ship-managers with high Quality and ethical Service Providers worldwide.

Vision : Create a quality group of Technical Maritime World’s professionals to make them more productive and successful.
